My Experiences

Based of different symptoms different remedies are used in treatment of Asthma. The complete treatment especially at advanced stages requires much patience. I have found Tubeculinum, Natrum Sulph. and Thuja very promising in treatment of Asthma. During attack for immediate relief both Blatta and Amyl Nitrate work in miraculous ways. Blatta is given internally whereas few drops of Amyl are put on handkerchief and patients are advised to inhale it. Both uses at a time give much relief to the patients. In long term Biochemic drug Kali Phos. gives much benefit to the patients.

Although the use of Coffee is restricted with many Homoeopathic drugs but I suggest the patients to take strong coffee during attack. In most of the cases it acts in promising ways and patients feel much relief.

Adusa (Adathoda vasica) plant parts specially leaves are used as medicine for Asthma in many systems of medicine in India. The use of Adusa based formulations specially Vasa Awleh gives much benefit to the patients. Adusa is very effective. The decoction prepared from its leaves is used during attack. The regular use of Adusa acts as promising preventive to Asthma.

The senior natives of Chhattisgarh believe that Laung (Clove) is very useful in Asthma. The patients are advised to keep Laung in mouth up to long time. I have found it effective especially in long term.

In Chhattisgarh many types of Herbal Cigarettes are in use .I have written a lot on this aspect in previous articles.

The use of Blumea lacera leaves in form of fumes gives much relief during attack. The traditional healers of Chhattisgarh use it during attack. I have found it useful in case of emergency.

In Materia Medica of Dr. Ghosh, the use of Bat meat in treatment of Asthma is mentioned. The tribals of Chhattisgarh are using it successfully since generations.

In general the internal use of Gud (Jaggery) up to long time in small amount is also considered beneficial for Asthma.
