I always suggest the patients having the problem of Epilepsy to keep Ignatia MT and Amyl Nitrate30 with them. In case of attack spread these drugs on handkerchief and inhale the smell. It acts in miraculous ways. One step ahead I suggest them to write the method of its use in small paper so that in serious conditions any one can help you in using the drugs. In treatment of Epilepsy much study and much patience are required. On the basis of symptoms I use different herbs. As Biochemic drugs I have found the use of Calcarea Phos. and Calcarea Carb. very useful.
In forest regions of Chhattisgarh the natives use the combination of aqueous extract of Reetha (Sapindus emarginatus) with Nimbu (Lemon) juice during the attack. Few drops of this combination are applied into the nose. I have tried it successfully many times.
The use of Bach (Acorus calamus) fumes is also very effective. It can be used as both preventive and curative to Epilepsy. Bach is used internally as traditional medicine in treatment of Epilepsy.
During visit to rural areas I keep the combination of dry cow dung and Fudhar (Calotropis gigantea) latex in my medical kit. When I observe the patients at attack I burn the combination and direct the fumes into the patient's nose. Like above-mentioned combinations it gives promising results.
In general the traditional healers of Chhattisgarh suggest the patients to take the Agasti (Sesbania) leaf juice internally up to long time. It is considered beneficial for the patients in long term.
