Among Homoeopathic drugs I have found Bryonia very useful in treatment of Epistaxis. After it Millefolium acts in promising ways. Ferrum Phos. is promising Biochemic drug I prefer in routine practice. In many cases Arnica also resulted in encouraging results. In most of the cases this trouble is managed easily by home remedies. As first aid measure the patients are advised to inhale the essence of freshly cut Piaz (Allium cepa) bulbs. It acts in miraculous ways and the patients get rid from this trouble. It is time-tested remedy and much information is available about this use in reference literatures related to different systems of medicine in India. During summer the fresh extract of Mango stone acts in same way. Few drops of extract are applied into the nose. The patients having the problem of nosebleed very commonly are advised to never miss the chance of consuming Doomar (Ficus glomerata) fruits during the season. Its one season consumption can protect them round the year from this trouble. In Chhattisgarh it is much liked by the natives especially by small children. The consumption of fruit is having many other health benefits also. I have also found the use of dry Aonla fruit powder very promising. Cow ghee is added in this powder and roasted. The combination is then applied on forehead as treatment.
I have written about hundreds of traditional formulations useful for Epistaxis in my previous articles.
