My Experiences

Among Homoeopathic drugs I have found Euphrasia very promising. It can be used at all stages with good results. In transitional period I suggest the common person to take it as preventive to Conjunctivitis. I have found it effective in lower potencies. Allium cepa is useful if the red line symptoms are present. After Euphrasia I have found Biochemic drug Ferrum.Phos. very useful. It can be given till complete cure. In case of Conjunctivitis home remedies act in miraculous ways. I suggest the patients to apply few drops of pure honey into the eyes. Please note I have written pure honey. Honey having sugar syrup and other impurities can cause damage to the eyes. In Chhattisgarh the use of Gulabjal (Rosewater) is also very common. This age-old home remedy cures the trouble effectively many times as single remedy. In rural region of Chhattisgarh the traditional healers use the milky latex of Satyanashi (Argemeone mexicana) in treatment of this trouble. It is applied of eyebrows. I have found it very effective. It must be used under the supervision of the healers. The use of Munga (Moringa oleifera) leaf juice in combination with honey is also beneficial. In many parts of Chhattisgarh I have seen the use of Bans (Bamboo) leaves. The leaves are crushed and converted into thick paste. This paste is applied on eyelids in closed eyes. It absorbs the extra heat from the eyes. Its entry into the eyes must be avoided. I have also seen the successful use of Bar (Ficus benghalensis) latex internally for Conjunctivitis. For eye pain aqueous solution of Haldi (Turmeric) can be applied in opposite ear.
