My Experiences

Few years back I got severe accident at midnight in dense forest. My bus fell down in valley. I injured much. The driver lost his life. The co-passengers were severely injured. No one is there for rescue. Fortunately I was having my Homoeopathy kit with sufficient amount of Arnica. We were in the valley for five hours without any help. All injured passengers were given frequent doses of Arnica 1M. It acts in miraculous way and at morning when the rescue team arrived all of us were safe. I am very fond of Arnica for injury. Although in reference literatures you will find different Homoeopathic drugs for different types of injuries but I have found Arnica as panacea for any type of injury. I always suggest everyone to keep it in medical kit. After Arnica Ferrum Phos. works well. Ferrum Phos can be used as first remedy also in case of minor injury. I have also tried Ledum successfully many times. In general I suggest the patients to take Haldi (Curcuma longa) powder with cow milk twice a day in order to get rid from injuries. It is popular home remedy. Although the natives living in urban areas have forgotten its use but in rural and forest region it is still very common. One teaspoonful of Haldi powder is mixed in a cupful of cow milk. The patients are advised to avoid the use of water after taking it. It acts as promising painkiller. It gives new vigor to the patients. During surveys in dense forest when I get injuries in absence of Arnica I use this natural antibiotic without any delay. In forest, also in Agricultural fields many herbs are present having styptic properties. Tridax, Achyranthes, Blumea, Cynodon, etc. are among these herbs. The leaf juice of these herbs stops bleeding very quickly. In rural areas the natives save much of their medical expenses by using these weeds. For injuries I have found Maida (Litsea chinensis) bark very effective. It is applied externally on swelled parts in combination with Ama Haldi (Curcuma amada). It is also very useful in case of blood clotting. To stop the bleeding the bark of Saja (Terminalia alata) can be used in form of thick paste. But among all these remedies I am still giving much importance to Arnica.
