Cajeput Essential Oil

Botanical Name: Melaleuca minor
Common Method Of Extraction: Steam distillation

Aroma: Penetrating, camphoraceous-medicinal odor. When compared to eucalyptus oil, it has a slightly milder fruity body note.
Largest Producing Countries: Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Java, and Australia

Traditional Use: It is known in the West for producing a sensation of warmth and quickening the pulse. It is used in chronic laryngitis and bronchitis, cystitis, and rheumatism.

Properties: Anthelminthic, antimicrobial, antineuralgic, antiseptic (pulmonary, urinary, intestinal), antispasmodic, carminative, diaphoretic, expectorant, febrifuge, insecticide, mildly analgesic, sudorific, and tonic.

Benefits: Arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, colds, coughs, cystitis, flu, genital herpes, hemorrhoids, insect bites, muscular aches and pains, oily skin, rheumatism, sinusitis, sore throat, urethritis, urinary infection, varicose veins, viral infections

Blends Well With: Cananga, clary sage, geranium, lavandin, lavender, marjoram, oakmoss, pine, rosemary, spice oils, and especially clove and nutmeg.

Of Interest: Used in pharmaceutical work as an antiseptic; in expectorant and tonic formulations, throat lozenges, gargles, etc.

Safety Data: Non-toxic, non-sensitizing, may irritate the skin in high concentration and when it is not diluted.Not to be used when pregnant.
